The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams welcome Bellevue to Wellman Friday for a River Valley Conference doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls enter action with an overall record of 8-7 on the year, 8-6 in the River Valley Conference. They were last in action a over week ago when they beat Tipton on Senior Night in Wellman 38-33 behind Maddie Nonnenmann’s 13 points and Phelan Hostetler’s 11. On the season, the Hawks are led by Nonnenmann at 13 points and seven rebounds per game. Amara Jones leads Mid-Prairie with four assists and three steals per game. Bellevue is 14-1 on the season, 13-1 in the River Valley Conference. The Comets are ranked No. 6 in class 2A in the most recent poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Winners of eight in a row, they beat Wilton last time out 51-41 behind 16 points from Audrey Wedeking. On the season, Bellevue is led by Teresa Paulsen at 13 points, seven rebounds, four blocks, and three steals per game. Kalesia DeShaw leads the Comets with three assists per game. These two teams met a year ago with the Hawks taking a 49-46 win.
