Gov. Ricketts declares Nebraska a 'Second Amendment Sanctuary State'

Governor Pete Ricketts issued a proclamation Wednesday morning designating Nebraska as a "Second Amendment Sanctuary State."
The proclamation is symbolic. It states that "Nebraska will stand up against federal overreach and attempts to regulate gun ownership and use in the Good Life" and sends a message that Nebraska will take any necessary steps to defend the right to keep and bear arms. Sign up for our Newsletters
The proclamation comes in response to President Biden's recent gun control measurers announced in the wake of multiple mass shootings. The president wants to crack down on homemade 'ghost guns' and stabilizing pistol arm braces like the one used in the Boulder grocery story attack.
