Gov. Walz hails CDC mask move, set to ease COVID-19 restrictions

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz welcomed new federal COVID-19 guidance Tuesday allowing vaccinated people to go mask-free in many outdoor settings, even though it will have little practical impact in a state that mostly required them indoors.
The relaxed mask guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is another sign of progress against the pandemic that Walz said could result in a further scaling back of restrictions and capacity limits in the next week in Minnesota.
