Grant paves way for improvement works to town's high street in time for lockdown lifting Work will start next month on a scheme to help make a town's high street more attractive to visitors and shoppers, helping local businesses recover as Covid restrictions are eased. Work to Wheatsheaf Walk in Ormskirk, will include laying new paving and seating as well as installing new lighting and removing planters and the pagoda, helping to make the shops more visible to people coming to the area. Leader of West Lancashire Borough Council and portfolio holder for Economic Regeneration, Councillor Ian Moran, said: "It will be particularly important when non-essential shops can re-open after lockdown that they will be able to start trading as soon as possible.
