The grant will be used for services involving in removing animals from the Vance County Animal Shelter and taking them to adoptive owners in the northeastern United States. Michelle Wood, rescue coordinator for RCAPS, said funds from the grant will cover veterinary services for the animals, maintenance on the organizationâs van, paying the driving and purchasing gasoline. âWe have 18 going tonight,â to places âas far away as Rochester, New York,â she said. In a news release announcing the grant, Ruin Creek APS founder Mary Boyd said her organization works closely with the Vance shelter to prepare cats and dogs for transportation.
