Guam justices side with landowner in Urunao lease dispute By Steve Limtiaco View Comments A Dededo land owner won her case in the Supreme Court of Guam last week, after she sued Mariana Stone Corporation in 2013 for failing to make its lease payments, violating their $450,000 contract. According to the Supreme Court, Mariana Stone agreed to lease land in Urunao, owned by Roseana Palmer, in order to remove aggregate from the site. The lot is near the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Guam National Wildlife Refuge. The access road to the lot is controlled by U.S. Fish and Wildlife, which denied the company’s request to use it, court documents state. After being issued violation notices several times for continuing to use the road, Mariana Stone stopped using the site, according to the court.
