Guam National Olympic Committee (GNOC) President Ricardo Blas has revealed he is concerned for neighbouring National Olympic Committees (NOCs) transferring for the rearranged Olympic Games in Tokyo after Fiji closed its borders due to positive COVID-19 cases.
Speaking to
KUAM Sports, Blas spoke of Tokyo 2020 preparations and addressed the issues that nations in the region with Fiji closing borders.
"Protocols are constantly changing," he said.
"They're basically updating protocols, we even have a COVID liaison officer.
"Every NOC is required to have one, but the biggest challenge I think for many of us now, not so much for Guam but for NOC's like Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Tuvalu, Kiribati and the rest of the NOCs down in Oceania; they're really having a major challenge just trying to leave the country."
