Oceania National Olympic Committees secretary general Ricardo Blas has issued a warning for athletes and officials that they follow the Tokyo 2020 playbooks.
Blas has reportedly expressed confidence NOC secretary generals and Presidents understand the importance of playbooks, but suggested it was a matter of grave concern that all
Chefs de Mission be at the same level of appreciation for the counter-measures .
The concerns are very real, Blas said.

Guam National Olympic Committee (GNOC) President Ricardo Blas has revealed he is concerned for neighbouring National Olympic Committees (NOCs) transferring for the rearranged Olympic Games in Tokyo after Fiji closed its borders due to positive COVID-19 cases.
Speaking to
KUAM Sports, Blas spoke of Tokyo 2020 preparations and addressed the issues that nations in the region with Fiji closing borders.
Protocols are constantly changing, he said.
They re basically updating protocols, we even have a COVID liaison officer.
Every NOC is required to have one, but the biggest challenge I think for many of us now, not so much for Guam but for NOC s like Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Tuvalu, Kiribati and the rest of the NOCs down in Oceania; they re really having a major challenge just trying to leave the country. ....

ONOC extends MoU with Japanese partners to help athletes prepare for Tokyo 2020

The Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) has announced the extension of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Japanese partners that aims to help athletes prepare for the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Kazuo Nakayama, Mayor of Ryugasaki, and Toshiaki Nojiri, President of the Ryutsu Keizai University (RKU), signed the MoU along with ONOC President Robin Mitchell at a virtual ceremony.
Mitchell said the partnership had the ability to ease burdens on athletes from smaller countries following the postponement of the Olympics to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. ....
