MOUNTAIN GROVE, Mo. - Gun concealment furniture specialist Rough Country Rustic Furniture has been ordered to pay more than a million dollars after being sued by the state of Missouri.
More than 1,400 customers filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) since 2015, alleging Rough Country took their money but never sent them their promised orders.
Company owners Joseph and Ashley Ross have now agreed to a consent judgment with the state, denying wrongdoing but agreeing to pay $1.2 million to avoid further litigation.
Soon after the lawsuit began in 2018, the Rosses stopped business operations and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. In October 2019 they opened a new business - at the same location - called Farmhouse Store Company.
