Students in Halifax are returning to school Thursday morning. Halifax Regional Centre for Education officials are reminding you masks are still required on busses, and many other places in schools, so don’t forget to send your kids with one. The reopening comes after the province announced schools would be closed for the rest of the year as the third wave hammered the province in May. Shortly after officials announced schools outside Halifax would reopen for the last weeks of the school year and, on Monday, officials finally said Halifax-area students would return to school Thursday. Premier Iain Rankin says the decision was based on lower cases, and the importance of in-person learning and finishing the school year strong.
