Game 1 saw the Hatchets score 10 runs on seven hits, but the team struggled defensively with seven errors before losing a large lead in a heartbreaking, walk-off fashion to eventual champion Hanover-Horton, 11-10. Leading the offense was Haley Newland with two singles (2 RBIs) and hits by Allison Haldane (RBI), Brooke Messing (RBI), Mackenzie Jordan, Lexi Booms, and Amber Haldane. Sydney Prill had an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Newland went 5.2 innings, giving up seven hits, four earned runs, three strikeouts and a walk.
