Jennifer Hayes died of COVID-19 and double pneumonia on Aug. 28 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. The Arab woman and her husband, Bobby Hayes, contracted COVID-19 in July. He recovered in about a week. She just couldnât shake it. She spent a week in Huntsville Hospital and three weeks in Vanderbilt. Jennifer worked at Legacy of Hope, Alabamaâs organ donor organization. Her coworkers nominated her to be part of the Rose Paradeâs Donate Life float for the Rose Parade. Unfortunately, because of COVID, the Rose Parade was canceled. In its place will be âThe Rose Parade New Year Celebration,â airing at 10 a.m. Friday (New Yearâs Day) on WAAY TV Channel 31. Part of the special will honor healthcare heroes, including Jennifer.
