The first season of Pennyworth was a big move for Epix that paid off well as it did solid numbers for the service and had a second season green-lit pretty quickly overall. Personally, it was one of the best series of the last few years for me, especially with a fantastic opening sequence. That said, I didn’t like Epix enough to pay for it so I’ve been waiting for digital-purchase options for it as I did not need another streaming service. Now, Deadline is reporting that negotiations are going on between Warner Bros. TV and Epix to bring the two seasons to HBO Max, which makes a lot of sense. The property was sold to Epix originally before the HBO Max service was coming together and Warner Bros. TV was looking to get their projects out on various services and networks so that it wasn’t all on one network. We’ve seen them slowly but surely “coming home” to HBO Max with
