HCA Healthcare HCA Healthcare is selling Redmond Regional Medical Center, a mid-size hospital in Rome, Georgia, to AdventHealth for $635 million. It's a strategic push by HCA to exit Atlanta's surrounding area. Earlier this week, HCA announced it was selling four hospitals to Piedmont Healthcare, a not-for-profit community based health system in Atlanta, for $950 million. After the sale of Redmond, HCA will no longer have a presence in northwest Georgia. Experts say Redmond Regional was not able to benefit from a "broader HCA Healthcare network in the area." Efforts by HCA to expand its network into Georgia's southeast region took place May 3 when the company bought Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.
