Tony Lingenfelter wouldn’t want this story to be about him. The star high school athlete, mega Penn State fan and Irish Catholic grandfather did not lack rich stories and tender memories, having spent 84 years weaving those moments – big and small – into a life story full of love. Working for Turkey Hill Minit Markets for 33 years, he was a key part of helping the hallmark convenience stores expand throughout his native state of Pennsylvania. He was a fierce competitor, pickleball champion, and a coach and mentor to many young athletes, including his own grandchildren. But he was the kind of person who listened to others’ stories first.
