11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 are being reported Friday morning by the Northwestern Health Unit. Six are from the Fort Frances health hub, three from the Kenora area and one each from the Dryden and Sioux Lookout regions. The NWHU says that there are now 71 active cases of the novel coronavirus in their catchment area, up from the 66 reported on Thursday. The Kenora region still leads the way with 31 active cases, followed by the Fort Frances health hub with 19. The regional health authority tells us there is good news going into the weekend as the number of hospitalizations is down from five on Thursday to three on Friday.
