There are five early stage startups participating in the second gBETA business accelerator program in Cleveland that range from advanced manufacturing augmented reality to an e-scheduling platform for health care that anticipates patient appointments. The program, created by Milwaukee-based gener8tor, runs over seven weeks and is held twice a year in the spring and fall. Over the duration of the program that began March 4, gBETA, which works with startups for zero fees or equity, offers coaching and connections to its network of mentors, customers, corporate sponsors and potential investors. The idea is to help these early stage companies generate traction and eventually pitch their businesses to investors, or otherwise build them up to make them more competitive applicants to other equity-based accelerator programs.
