Those people, Thomas said, also are happy to see people from the outside. With assistance from a number of state and federal agencies, food insecurity has been lessened a bit for fixed-income residents. In spite of that help, however, senior citizens have had to cope with isolation and loneliness, and many are hesitant to leave their homes.
