A resident spotted the giant bird trapped in their garden in Stoke Bishop on Friday (April 16) and contacted the animal welfare charity for help. RSPCA animal rescue officer Clara Scully, who rushed to rescue the stricken bird, described helping carefully free the heron before taking him to RSPCA West Hatch Wildlife Centre for treatment before release back into the wild.
