After defeating his rivals, Wang told Xinhua that he would like to finish the season with an unbeaten record. Wang conquered 2.15m, 2.20m and 2.24m with perfect clearances. When none of his rivals cleared 2.24m, Wang chose to skip 2.29m and instead try 2.30m, but the 29-year-old failed to clear it. Wu Guobiao tied Wang Zhen for second place, with both clearing 2.20m.
