Staff Report JACKSON TWP. – Officers from the Ashland Police Department detained the suspects of a stolen vehicle following a chase that ended in the City of Ashland on Saturday night, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol press release. Late Saturday, the patrol received reports about two people possibly using narcotics at a rest area along Interstate Route 71 southbound, the release said. Troopers found a vehicle and learned it was reported stolen from New York. A female suspect from Batavia, New York, was behind the wheel, with a male as a passenger, and fled from the scene onto Interstate Route 71 southbound in the vehicle. Speed sticks were placed on 71 by law enforcement, and we’re run over by the vehicle as it exited 71 at US Route 250, where speed sticks were placed by law enforcement.
