To owner Greg Offenhauser, the higher capacity will help his business. "It still hurts us but at least we can make some money and try to pay some bills," he said. "When we're closed, we're totally under the gun, paying rent, utilities, we're paying insurance and everything else with no money coming in. So, it's an extremely difficult operating environment to say the least." Louie's holds its live performances outdoors, which means the shows are dependent upon good weather. "Even though we are going back to 50% capacity, for us, it wouldn't be feasible to try to have a band inside with only 50% capacity," Offenhauser said. "So, we're pretty much just dependent entirely on the weather right now. Once we get back fully open, once we get over this COVID protocol, we'll be able to start adding bands inside and we'll be full swing."
