A detective involved in investigating a man who sexually assaulted two children more than 40 years ago has described the case as “one of the more difficult” he has worked on.
Raymond Harrison, 69, of Keswick, was sentenced today at Carlisle Crown Court for six counts of indecent assault, four
counts of rape and two counts of indecency with a child.
The offences, which were committed against two schoolgirls in the Keswick area between 1979 and 1982, were reported to police in 2017. Harrison was found unanimously guilty on 11 counts, and by a majority on one count by a jury for these horrific offences.
