Historic Whitsundays hotel may never return to former glory

A century-old Whitsundays region pub faces an uncertain future after it was struck off the heritage list and listed for sale.
Now the abandoned hotel otherwise known as O’Duinns Irish Pub is for sale, with the vendor describing it as a “rare opportunity” to buy a “prime” 1781sq m commercial site with dual access.
“The existing building on the property was previously utilised as a full service hotel with restaurant, bar, TAB and gaming room facilities,” PRD Whitsunday’s property listing stated.
