Hong Kong in calm atmosphere as over 670,000 local residents vote in first six hours for District Council Election

Hong Kong residents began lining up in front of some voting stations across the city around 8:30 am on Sunday as the city kicked off its first large-scale election since the introduction of new electoral reforms with the implementation of only patriots administering the city. Over 670,000 voters had cast their votes within the first six hours, equal to a turnout of 15.47 percent as of 14:30 pm.
