Representative Sarah Vance nominated Representative Steve Thompson, Republican of Fairbanks, to be Speaker. On Thursday, the House voted 39-0 for Representative Josiah Patkotak, independent of Utqiagvik, to be Speaker Pro Tempore. Rep. Patkotak will preside over the House until a permanent Speaker is chosen. The House adjourned until Monday at 11 a.m., when it will be day 21 of the session.
