How about some good news?

Our learning center

An important part of being a Select Board member is supporting our school leaders as they manage transition.
Here’s a good example:
Our local School Board, led by Mr. McAfferty and Superintendent, Maria Libby have established a Pre-K school program here in Camden-Rockport. This is great news for all of us, especially new families.
(It’s part of the budget we all vote on this coming June 8th.  You did vote early, early right??)
The Vision:  The Camden Rockport Pre-K program will provide a nature-based learning opportunity for 4-year-old children that reside in Camden or Rockport.  This program will provide an authentic connection to the natural world with the majority of a child’s day spent outside in the natural environment. It is our vision to inspire our students to love nature, foster an environmental ethic and provide developmentally appropriate literacy and numeracy experiences.   Students will learn cognitive and social-emotional skills through exploration, inquiry, and play.  Our students will become confident and curious learners where nature provides the catalyst for learning.
