Ikeda’s began as a fruit stand in the 1970s and has since grown into an undeniable highlight to any trip along I-80.
With the third generation now taking the ownership reins, it’s the epitome of a family business.
“You can ask anybody in our family,” says Derek Ikeda, 26, who has stepped into the leadership position.
“It’s our blood, sweat and tears in this store.”
You probably already know about Ikeda’s, but you might not know how the roadside stop got so popular, or why the pies are so dang good.
