A message of hope and faith rang loud on Easter weekend in Indianapolis' north side. On Saturday, New Era Church hosted a pop-up vaccination clinic, in partnership with Oak Street Health, an organization of primary care centers for adults on Medicare. The clinic was open to anyone in the community looking to become vaccinated. Community vaccine clinics are being promoted as a way to build trust and increase vaccinations in communities of color that have disproportionality been hesitant to receive the vaccine. Clarence Moore, the church's lead pastor, has been an advocate for increasing vaccination rates in the city's communities of color.
