Premium Content Subscriber only A Maroochydore training centre has thrown its support behind women entering the workforce with a new program. Skills Generation has created an employment project for mature-aged women job seekers who have been displaced due to COVID-19. The initiative was made possible through the federal government's Local Recovery Fund which was designed to address job vacancies and help upskill workers to better meet employer demand. The Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions have received a $154,810 investment as part of the fund, with the first release of 15 local employment projects making up more than $2m in investments. The government's Local Jobs Program will run through to 2022 in several regions across Australia that have been impacted by COVID-19.
