(Jess Hardin | Mahoning Matters) YOUNGSTOWN — Eastgate Regional Council of Governments today unveiled its plan for increasing broadband access in the Mahoning Valley. The feasibility study includes Ashtabula, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. The longterm goal is to establish a fiber backbone in the region by the end of 2024, when American Rescue Funds must be spent. “My anticipation is that it would be highly subscribed to,” said Lindsay Miller, an attorney at Ice Miller LLP and lead consultant on the project.
