we were visiting with believers in alexandria and cairo and the area south of cairo and it's just completely out of control. gang warfare. people are staying up at night trying to protect their homes. bank robrys rapes. we heard not confirmed of 15 christians just murdered in a village yesterday. so it is completely out of control and christians are praying that things are going to come back to seminormal at least for now. jenna: scary to hear about that. you're pointing to the trends. just real quick here, tom, why stay? why do the christians stay if that's the circumstances they're facing? >> well you know christians believe they have a reason to be there and the church goes back to the first century. it was a strong outpost of christianity in the early 40s ad. so they're there and they believe they can bring salt and light and peace to egypt and so christians today are having a national prayer and fasting day. so we're asking believers
