>> reporter: yeah that's the word heartbreak that is what this community is feeling right now. it was an emotional service earlier to honor the life of 29-year-old officer carrie arosco they touched on compassion she felt for others and responsibility as a police officer and love she had for her stepchildren and her newborn baby dagt. the church was filled to capacity with hundreds more in an overflow building everybody nearly everybody dressed in blue in a show of unity, all law enforcement wore a white carnation tinged with blue in a show of respect. it was a solemn procession through the streets of omaha and on to council bluff iowa where she was laid to rest. the response to her death has been overwhelming for the department. they've received more than 1,000 messages of condolence from as far away as italy and israel.
