The residents had been observing the dire state of Kalyani and the PoP idols just dumped there. While the PoP idols have been completely banned, their immersion continues, and the idols have been lying at the Kalyani without cleaning. The debris included remnants of Durga Puja idols, discarded clothing, footwear, plastic, and various other items—most notably, artefacts from post-Dusshera idol immersion.
