Dinesh Sharma, former deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, is set to enter Rajya Sabha as the only candidate for the upcoming by-elections. The by-election was called after the death of incumbent MP Hardwar Dubey. Sharma, a member of the BJP, expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the opportunity. With the BJP's strong majority in the state assembly, Sharma's election is virtually assured.
