A record number of tourists visited the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) in the first three-and-a-half months since October. The tea tourism circuit inaugurated on Thursday is set to offer them an even more immersive experience. KNPRT authorities said over 1.7 lakh tourists visited the Unesco world heritage site from October to January. Local businesses have also benefited from the increased tourist flow with hotels, restaurants and shops reporting a surge in activity. Starting this February, Kaziranga has introduced tea tourism, which would offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore the region’s rich tea culture.
