Sonia Mudbhatkal, who runs a production company in US, and and Hollywood filmmaker John Hart Jr had pleaded for a stay on the film's release, alleging copyright infringement. They had moved court a day before the films's release on a streaming service last month. However Justice C Hari Shankar had dismissed the stay application, saying not a single reason was shown to approach the court less than 24 hours before release of the film.
