After it was set loose at the Hockenheim-GP circuit last month with SportAuto’s Christian Gebhardt at the wheel, the 2021 BMW M5 CS was recently taken to the Lausitzring for another fast lap. The YouTube channel now put Guido Naumann in the driver’s seat, and he managed to complete the course in 1:31.88, around one and a half seconds faster than the M5 Competition. According to FastestLaps, the new M5 CS was faster than the Porsche 911 (991) GT3, Audi R8 V10 Performance and Jaguar XE SV Project 8, which posted a 1:32.00, 1:32.11 and 1:32.15 respectively. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S was clocked at 1:32.32 and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition crossed the finish line in 1:32.76 and 1:32.96.
