Video: BMW M5 Competition vs E63 AMG S track battle

It’s time, once again, to take a look at how two uber-sedans from Germany, true track monsters with four seats, compare under pressure. We’re referring, of course, to the BMW M5 Competition and the Mercedes-AMG E63 S, cars that have been dueling for decades now, each with their own hardcore fans. Today we’re checking them out on the track, in the capable hands of the guys from Auto Bild Sportscars.
To be more precise, the driver behind the wheel was Guido Naumann and he took the two cars around the Sachsenring wearing almost the same tires, which more often than not can be the main difference maker when it comes to ultimate performance. Both cars were wearing Pirelli P Zero tires with the AMG being fitted with the P Zero M01 version.

The ALPINA B3 is a seriously fast car. If the spec sheet didn’t tell you that already, the video below might help. The German Autobahn killer has been put to the test by the guys from Auto Bild and their Sports Cars division, on their usual proving grounds, the Sachsenring. And it didn’t disappoint. As a matter of fact, it was faster than anyone thought it would be, in the hands of Guido Naumann.
The high-perfomance sedan uses an upgraded version of the B58 engine found on the M340i model. Their application makes 462 HP and 700 Nm of torque, numbers better than the outgoing M3 and slightly under par with the standard M3 that’s coming out right now. The B3 also comes with all-wheel drive as standard and reaches 100 km/h from standstill in 3.8 seconds. To top everything off, the claimed top speed of the car in 303 km/h (188 mph).

We were supposed to join Markus last week to see the new super sedan, but unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic had some another plans for us. The 2021 BMW M5 CS will be unveiled in January of next year and will bring to the table some amazing performance.
We all know the standard M5 is fast enough to deform your eyeballs under full-throttle acceleration. But you’d never expect such a car to lap any track faster than a purpose-built, track-ready sports car. Except that’s what happened earlier this month, as the BMW M5 CS prototype lapped the Lausitzring faster than a 991-generation Porsche 911 GT3. The lap time was done by AutoBild’s Guido Naumann, who record a very impressive 1:31.88 in the BMW M5 CS. Compare that to the previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3’s 1:32.00 and the M5 CS is only faster by a fraction of a second.

Even as a prototype, the M5 CS is a four-door missile.
BMW may be going SUV-crazy these days, but it still knows how to make an impressively fast sedan. The yet-to-be-unveiled M5 CS has already impressed Sport Auto around the Hockenheim and now their fellow colleagues at
Auto Bild took the super sedan and stretched its legs at the Lausitzring circuit in northeast Germany.
Positioned above the normal M5 and the hotter M5 Competition, the new CS is still at a prototype stage. In the hands of professional race car driver Guido Naumann, it managed to lap the two-mile race track in 1 minute and 31.88 seconds, thus shaving off nearly two seconds from the M5 Competition’s 1:33.40 lap.

2021 BMW M5 CS Prototype Laps The Lausitzring Faster Than The Porsche 911 GT3

After it was set loose at the Hockenheim-GP circuit last month with SportAuto’s Christian Gebhardt at the wheel, the 2021 BMW M5 CS was recently taken to the Lausitzring for another fast lap.
The YouTube channel now put Guido Naumann in the driver’s seat, and he managed to complete the course in 1:31.88, around one and a half seconds faster than the M5 Competition.
According to FastestLaps, the new M5 CS was faster than the Porsche 911 (991) GT3, Audi R8 V10 Performance and Jaguar XE SV Project 8, which posted a 1:32.00, 1:32.11 and 1:32.15 respectively. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S was clocked at 1:32.32 and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition crossed the finish line in 1:32.76 and 1:32.96.
