In the two marquee races on Tuesday's primary ballot, Erie Mayor Joe Schember, the Democratic incumbent, outraised his two opponents, while Erie County Councilman Carl Anderson had the largest cash haul in the race for Erie County executive. Schember’s campaign committee, The Committee to Elect Joseph Schember, reported total contributions for the period Jan. 1 to May 3 of $138,944, which included $69,560 carried over from previous reporting periods. Schember’s campaign reported spending $46,886 during the period, as well as a cash-on-hand balance of $92,058, according to finance reports. Schember’s largest contribution from a political committee was $15,000, from Steamfitters Local Union 449’s political action committee. Schember also received $5,000 from the Erie Insurance PAC and $2,500 from LPAC Erie, reports show.
