NYSAPLS releases new lesson plans as continuation of Get Kids into Survey

ALBANY — The New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors (NYSAPLS) recently introduced a new set of land surveying lesson plans for students in the middle and high school-age levels. The Young Professionals Committee and Public Relations Committee of NYSAPLS worked together to create these updated lesson plans, and the lessons are meant to be taught in conjunction with a math or history class as a way to demonstrate the relationship between the land surveying profession and other everyday activities.
“These lesson plans are a great way for educators to introduce a real-world application of their teachings to students all throughout the state of New York,” said Daniel Marvin, President of NYSAPLS. “Our goal at NYSAPLS isn’t just to represent the industry, but to make sure the industry will continue to be in good hands in the future. Offering up lesson plans like these has been a great way to introduce the profession to students and inspire the next generation of land surveyors here in New York.”
