Police cordon off street outside polling station after 'serious assault' in Scotland

Images showed several police vehicles outside Martyrs' Church on Broomlands Street in Paisley, Renfrewshire.
Police Scotland have say the incident is not election related but is being treated as a serious assault.
Renfrewshire Council has confirmed that people are still able to gain access in order to vote.
Polling stations opened at 7am on Thursday and will close at 10pm, in an election which could be crucial in determining Scotland’s future within the UK.
So far election day has been a more sedate affair across the North East, where all eyes are on the Hartlepool Parliamentary by-election and the County Durham County Council elections, after pollsters predicted Labour could suffer heavy losses.
