Hubbard County is working with the Leech Lake River Comprehensive Watershed Plan committee and Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to acquire land for water quality protection.

Hubbard County is working with the Leech Lake River Comprehensive Watershed Plan committee and Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to acquire land for water quality protection.
“They have applied to the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council for funds to purchase lands protecting cold-water creek areas that basically drain into the Leech Lake water district,” explained County Land Commissioner Mark “Chip” Lohmeier at Tuesday’s county board meeting.
