HUNDREDS of elderly people will be receiving the Covid-19 vaccine this weekend. Tinkers Lane Surgery in Royal Wootton Bassett is working with six other practices including New Court Surgery to inject 975 doses into those who are over 80. But it will all be done at Malmesbury Primary Care Centre as the Pfizer vaccine has to be given within a short space of time – 3.5 days after delivery. Practice manager Rob Noel said: “We’re excited to get started this Friday afternoon. It means everything to be able to start vaccinating the patients here and across Wiltshire, especially one of the most vulnerable groups as they would be greatly affected if they caught the virus.
