We were bursting at the seams in our 20,000-square-foot facility and needed more space. Our current landlord would not lease us the next bay over, so I set out to scope out a new site. I had been eyeing the old IRS building for a few years, but when I asked about it previously, my realtor said, “Oh, no Christine, you don’t want that building. It’s way too big for you and the price tag is, too.” The building had now been vacant for over four years and was still on the market. Although the IRS was still using it as a distribution center, it was not owned by the government. Instead, a very wealthy family owned it and had put it into a trust.
