Jan 30, 2021 - 10:00 am By Lovemore Moyo Swallows FC will continue to fly without all their wings as their pending case with Brazilian midfielder Igor Alves continues to restrict them from reclaiming their full name. Alves is owed money by the management that ran Moroka Swallows from when he was at the club between 2008 until 2011. Since he took his case to FIFA in 2014, the new owners of the club have taken a precautionary measure of not adopting the full Moroka Swallows name in fear of possible sanctions, even though they identify themselves as the original Dube Birds. The club were ordered to pay R231 000 back then, but the amount has now accumulated to over R300 000, with an additional five percent interest.
