Mattoon, IL, USA / MyRadioLink.com For Immediate Release – April 28, 2021 Illinois Department of Labor Joins OSHA in Promoting Campaign to Prevent Falls at Construction Worksites SPRINGFIELD – The leading cause of death for construction workers is falls, accounting for more than 400 deaths in 2019, according to the most recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report. Sadly, those deaths were preventable. Bringing awareness to help prevent construction industry deaths and injuries from falls is the goal of the National Safety Stand Down to Prevent Falls in Construction week, May 3-7. The Illinois Department of Labor and its Illinois OSHA division are helping to promote the safety week.
