In Swampscott, Elm Place developers seek public input Zoom meeting slated for Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Sign up for the Swampscott Reporter's newsletter. Residents and community members are invited to participate in a virtual public discussion about WinnCompanies' proposed 128-unit residential building in Swampscott. The public meeting will occur at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21. The discussion will come months after the development arm of WinnCompanies, a national housing development and management company, unveiled plans in 2020 to pursue the construction of a 152,000-square-foot building with a mixture of affordable housing and market-rate housing units at 21 Elm Place. “The Elm Place project is planned as a transit-oriented development for working individuals, families, empty-nesters and active seniors who want to take advantage of the commuter rail station and senior center nearby and/or who want to downsize but stay in their community,” the town wrote in a public notice.
