A Basingstoke man stole more than £1,500 worth of power tools from a supermarket warehouse. Matthew James Knight, of Greenbirch Close in Kempshott, admitted to trespassing at the Ocado warehouse in Andover on January 5 and 8, 2020. He then made off with a total of £1,739 worth of power tools. The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court last Thursday, and was ordered to carry out community service. He must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work over the next year, and was also ordered to pay compensation of £1,739 to Ocado. A man has denied committing fraud after allegedly claiming he was sold the wrong games console.
