Wicklow Cancer Support and St Vincent de Paul have benefited from the annual Remembrance Tree despite Covid-19 restrictions. Wicklow Rotary Club erected the annual Remembrance Tree for the 14th successive year and collected funds for a total of €5,000 for both volunteer organisations. Andy Bolger, president of Wicklow Rotary, said: 'The Remembrance Tree has proved a popular meeting place leading up to Christmas every year for the people of Wicklow and visitors to the town. Everyone is encouraged to sign the Book of Remembrance and write a message to remember a departed loved one. This year, this aspect of the project wasn't possible because of Covid-19 restrictions, but we felt it was important for the town and Rotary to erect the Remembrance Tree.'
